Kynto Photo
Your own photo library on European servers. You get the search and the face grouping you'd expect from the big ones, without anybody mining the results.
The web app works now, and you can sign in and use it. It still says "in development" because the Android app isn't on Google Play. That app does exist, but only as a build you'd have to side-load, and I can't tell you when that changes.
What it does
Faces, places and dates
Photos sort themselves by who's in them and where you took them. Search works on what you type, not just on what you remembered to tag.
Sharing you can take back
Send someone an album or a single photo on a link that expires, and pull the link if you change your mind.
Two-factor authentication
Standard TOTP, so a leaked password isn't enough to get into your archive.
Bring what you've already got
Import a Google Photos library or a ZIP in one go, rather than a folder at a time.
